You’re not alone – Bluesky is (sort of) down


The Bluesky website and app are still available suffering Thursday after experiencing a disruption in operations that COO Rose Wang depending on to the rejection of work.

According to the social network social media pageThe news began around 2:42 am ET on Thursday and has continued since then.

Currently, the Bluesky site and program will open sometimes, slowly, and sometimes it will throw error messages.

For example, switching to a certain feed within the app displays a message saying “This account is receiving a lot of traffic and is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Message from server: Limit Exceeded.”

Popular feeds such as Discover or the official Bluesky Team feed are seeing this problem, although user feeds can trigger it.

In some cases, such as when trying to view a user’s profile, the site will simply display an error message, forcing you to refresh and try again.

said Bluesky protocol engineer Bryan Newbold around 3:46 am ET, “oof, our jobs are getting tough tonight.”

The company has not officially shared what is causing the outage or given a timeline for a fix.

Bluesky has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Service disruptions affect Bluesky, but other communities are using their own devices for results that make the social network appear to be working for now.
