Then I threw up a bunch of blood clots and ended up in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism and heart fragments. I felt really, really good after all that bad stuff.”
Richie continued: “I’ve lost 50 pounds since the last time I was a regular on TV. I just don’t have the appetite anymore. But losing weight doesn’t put me off.”

The 72-year-old actor is hopeful about his return to Hollywood, adding, “It’s great to be a disabled person and play a disabled person. I hope when some of this comes out, people I’ve worked with in the past will say, ‘Okay, let’s bring him back. We can work with him.'”
McEntire previously gushed about the reunion with richness happy place.
“Having Chris back[after Reba]was the most special thing for the producers — Kevin Abbott, Mindy Schultheiss, Michael Hanel. They were all from the Reba sitcom,” McEntire quipped to Us in May 2025.
McEntire recalled the importance of them working together again, noting that it “really made a difference” for Richie.
“He has to go back to a job that he loves so much, with people he loves. We all love him,” she said. “This is a huge blessing for all of us.”
