FIFA is under investigation over ticket pricing ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The attorneys general of New York and New Jersey are investigating the association, accusing it of “artificially inflating prices” and “misleading fans” regarding ticket sales. Fans were reportedly “misled” about their seat locations, including the issuance of more expensive “front” category tickets after the initial sale, according to reports.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino defended the prices in early May, saying they reflected the public’s “absolutely insane” appetite, but FIFA declined to comment on recent events.
