Tulsi Gabbard resigns as US director of national intelligence

Gabbard was a loyal supporter of Trump during his 2024 presidential campaign, and just weeks after returning to the White House in 2025, she was confirmed as one of the most powerful figures in U.S. intelligence collection. But this year, she has largely faded from public view as the United States has launched military action against Iran, pressured Cuba and, most notably, ousted Venezuela’s president.
