Abby explained that the two received three bills, one for over $32,000 and two for over $1,000 each. She noted that the bills “have been completed” but “at this time, they are overdue.”

She continued, “Obviously, people need to be compensated for the health care they provided me that day. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m not mad at the doctors, and I’m not mad at the nurses. I’m actually very grateful to them. But I also know it’s not going to go into their pockets. So, it’s so confusing.”

Abby went on to note that she “will never forget” receiving a text message 10 days after her miscarriage informing her that she was owed $35,000.

“I know I’m not the only one who has received a similar bill after a similar incident,” she said. “The reality is that many people go to hospital for reasons they have no choice in, accidents or just very unfortunate health conditions. The worst part is that it can cost people financially.”

The couple revealed in September that they had lost their baby just weeks after confirming Abby was pregnant. (Matt and Abby, Happy marriage in 2019and sons Griffin (3) and August (2). )

“During a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctors couldn’t find a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us for an ultrasound, the technician said something we’ll never forget, ‘I’m sorry I don’t have good news,'” they wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time. “That’s when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for, as well as learning that our baby had a genetic disorder that killed her at around 17 weeks into her pregnancy.”

Matt and Abby wrote at the time that “the news is unimaginable” and “the grief is absolutely devastating.”

“But we are so grateful for the time we spent with her. We still have hope. Hope continues to be there for us in so many ways,” they continued. “We will now mourn her and continue to find ways to honor her life offline. We welcome everyone’s thoughts and prayers. Thank you to everyone who has celebrated this precious life with us over the past 17 weeks. ❤️.”

The next month, Matt addresses Abby’s pregnancy loss first.

“Before we get started, I just want to thank everyone for reaching out to Abby and me during this very challenging time,” Matt said on an episode of their “Unplanned Podcast,” adding that Abby is pregnant and their baby can hear her voice. “She has a heartbeat. She has little hands, little fingers, little toes. We’re still processing that.”
