TikTok star turns country music singer Taylor Holder canceled nine of his dates Touring when no one is around Prioritize his mental health.
“This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but I need to cancel my upcoming show,” Holder, 28, said via Instagram Monday, May 11th.
“I’ve been struggling with my mental health over the past few months and I can no longer ignore it,” he continued. “I’ve been trying for a while (sic) to put my head down, stay the course and give everything I have to the music and the people who support me but honestly I’ve reached my limit now and I need to take a step back and focus on staying healthy.”
Holder admitted that despite his success, he felt “very lonely” and “unfulfilled.”
“Performing for you has been the greatest honor of my life and this decision was not made lightly,” he assured fans. “I know many of you have made plans, spent money, and looked forward to these evenings together. I am deeply sorry for the disappointment this has caused.”
Holder said he will use the downtime to “rest, seek support, reconnect with himself and get away from the stress and pace of touring.”
“I hope this break will allow me to come back stronger, healthier, and able to deliver the performance you deserve,” he wrote. “Thank you for your patience, compassion, and continued support. It means more than you can imagine.”
Holder ended his message by asking his followers to “please take care of yourselves and each other.”
In the comments section, Holder received support from friends and fellow musicians, including emerging Christian artists Brandon Lake.
“Men lift you up in prayer now!” Lake, 35, wrote to Holder. “The panicked spirit will break and God will flood your heart and mind with peace. Recognize (the lie), replace (with truth), and repeat… This has helped me a lot when I was struggling spiritually. Love you man and trust you to turn around quickly.”
holder’s girlfriend, Zoe Aounalso expressed her love, calling the social media influencer the “strongest man” she knows.
“I love you so much and I will be there for you no matter what,” Aoun, 27, added.
Holder rose to fame on TikTok in 2019, where he currently has more than 19 million followers, and became a member of the app’s Hype House collective in 2020. He released his first single “100 Rounds” in 2021 and his latest single “When No One’s About” last month.
