If you love homemade pizza but don’t like the hassle that comes with it, an electric pizza oven can be a great upgrade. The Ninja Artisan Outdoor Pizza Oven it is aimed at people who want delicious pizza nights without having to deal with things like propane or pellets, unlike many other pizza ovens.
I have to preface this review by admitting that I’m not a pizza connoisseur, but I’ve had some quick, restaurant-style pizzas using the oven, mostly because of its simplicity and user-friendly features.
The oven is designed for outdoor use where it reaches 700°F. It is worth noting that although it is electric, it is not suitable for indoor use.
It has five pizza settings: Neapolitan, New York, Thin Crust, Pan Pizza, and Custom that you can quickly change. It comes with a pizza stone that can cook 12-inch pizzas. Although I found the 12-inch size to be perfect for my husband and I, some may want to opt for larger pizzas when feeding a large crowd.
Since the oven has heating elements on the top and bottom, the pizzas cook evenly and consistently without the need to turn the pie, turn on the fire, or keep cooking all the time, especially when you know the different types.

Just like cooking, installation was easy. All I had to do was take the oven and pizza stone out of the box and put it in, put it in, and start heating.
I first tried the Neapolitan style, which heats the oven to a high temperature of 700°F and can cook a pizza in just three minutes. It took about 20 minutes for the oven to preheat, and it beeped to let me know it was ready. I was preparing my first pizza on the pizza peel that Ninja sent me next to the oven (sold separately), and I was able to easily place it on the pizza stone inside the oven.
After that, you have to push the “start” button to start cooking the pizza and start the timer. While the pizza is cooking, you can change the timer using the dial if you want to cook for a longer time.
As I kept an eye on the pizza through the small front window and the interior light to make sure it wasn’t burning, the three-minute cooking time was perfect, leaving me with a pizza that had an airy crust, crisp edges, and a light shine. An airy crust is something I have not been able to achieve when making homemade pizzas in my regular kitchen oven.
For the next Neapolitan pizzas I made, I didn’t have to monitor them and instead relied on the timer to beep and let me know when they were ready.
It is worth noting that if you are looking for the taste of wood, you will not get this with the oven. But if you enjoy consistent, reliable results, then this oven is perfect for you.

I also tried the New York setting, which creates a lower temperature than the Neapolitan mode and has a longer cooking time. I used this as a heavy duty pizza to cook and to do a lot in between. With this setting, I got a slight burn on the crust, which is what I was hoping for.
As for cleaning the oven, it’s much simpler and less messy since you don’t have to deal with soot from an open fire. The interior can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth to remove any shiny debris and dirt. On the pizza stone itself, I removed the debris when it was cold, because you shouldn’t use soap on a pizza stone because it’s porous and can absorb water and can crack or crack when heated too much.
What I love most about the pizza oven is that homemade pizza nights no longer feel like just a weekend chore. In the past, making pizza at home felt like too much work during the week, so I saved it for the weekend. But with how fast and easy to use the Ninja Artisan oven is, homemade pizza now feels like something I can make quickly after work without feeling like a chore.
I think a pizza oven is worth buying if you want to make pizza at home without the hassle of a regular pizza oven.
