‘Tehran does not think it has lost the war’

President Donald Trump said talks between the United States and Iran to end the war could resume as early as this weekend, with Washington and Tehran “very close” to a deal.

BBC chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet reported that while the Iranians are eager to end hostility with the United States, leaders do not believe they have lost the war and are unwilling to reach an agreement on Washington’s terms.
