He believes the monarch has managed to distance himself from the impending court case, arguing that the princess’s son is a private citizen, but that was not the case in Mette-Marit’s case: “She was never a private citizen, she was always the Crown Princess and what she did in a private capacity or an official capacity was always redirected back to Norway or else it rebounded.”
