Search for missing pilot poses tough test for U.S.

The president has publicly downplayed the entire incident and suggested it would not affect talks with Tehran to end the war sparked by the February 28 attack by the United States and Israel. But privately, it could cause serious concern, especially as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards are said to have launched a search for the missing American, allegedly using the military and locals, and offering a reward of around $66,000 (£50,000) for his capture alive.
