Secret Service source reportedly denies having previously identified any ‘credible threat’ Erica Kirk Turning Point USA show canceled with the vice president JD Vance This week.

It was announced during the show that Kirk and her team had received “some very serious threats” earlier in the day.
“I’m very much looking forward to tonight’s event at @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance, but after everything our family has been through, I take the advice of my safety team very seriously,” Kirk wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. “Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support. God bless you all!”
cbs news On Thursday, April 16, the Secret Service cited a source who said the agency was not aware of any “credible threats” to Kirk or the Turning Point incident. People familiar with the matter said the University of Georgia grounds are safe and there are no known issues with Vance’s safety.
According to media reports, Vance was informed that the event was safe and chose to continue to show up. However, a Secret Service source clarified that Kirk or her team may have received “hostile or threatening information” via social media that local security deemed unactionable.

“It’s exhausting. You dropped out because of poor ticket sales. TPFaith has had to quietly ‘reschedule’ the Pastors Summit and various other events for the same reason,” Owens, 36, wrote on Kirk’s Twitter.
She continued, “People don’t believe you and won’t line up to support you because you struggle to tell the basic truth. Where is the video of Charlie naming you CEO weeks before he died?”
Erica’s husband, conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31 years old.

Turning Point USA is currently on a multi-date college tour that includes trips to Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, April 21, and Baylor University in Waco, Texas on Wednesday, April 22. Erika is not expected to appear at any campus events next week.
