Missing 71-year-old Alabama man may have dementia

One day after Birmingham, Alabama police ask for help finding missing person Crisby S. Jones, Jr.it was revealed that he was found safe.

Birmingham Police Department confirms US Weekly Jones was located and safe on Tuesday, May 5. They did not reveal any other information about his disappearance or how he was found. However, the department also shared the good news with community members via Facebook.

After a 71-year-old man went missing in Alabama, police revealed he may be in the early stages of dementia as the search for him continues.

The Birmingham Police Department issues alerts via: Facebook Monday, May 4th, Crisby S. Jones, Jr. Jones was last missing on Friday, May 1. Jones was last seen in the 1700 block of Woodcrest Road in Birmingham.

Police also said he was driving a white 2002 Chevrolet Equinox with the license plate number 1C01BPA.

“He is no longer at the residence and his vehicle is no longer at the location,” police said in a statement. “He does not have any known relatives in the immediate area.”

It’s unclear what he was wearing when he disappeared. However, police shared a photo of Jones and described him as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.

Officials ask anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts to contact the Birmingham Police Department at (205) 328-9311 or 911.

After the police department shared the alert via Facebook, several social media users took to the comments section to express their well wishes during the search. One person commented: “Praying that Mr. Jones is ok.” Another added that they were “praying” for him to come home safely.
