Ludacris lets his kids listen to clean versions of his songs

“There’s all types of parental advice,” Ludacris, 48, exclusively reveals US Weekly At 2026 American Music Awards Red Carpet Monday, May 25th. “Even my songs, you have to listen to the clean version, the clean version.”

Ludacris’ children often appear in his TikTok videos, and Karma has expressed interest in following in her father’s footsteps and entering the music industry.

When asked if he would support his daughter entering the music industry, Ludacris said us“Of course. I hope they can pursue their dreams.”

“Actually, they love KATSEYE so much that she’s pissed that she’s not here (for the AMAs) right now,” he joked.

“If I’m performing somewhere, like I’m there for two or three days, I have to go home,” he explains. “So I make sure I have a 50/50 balance, more like an 80/20 balance really. I have to be 80 percent with my family and 20 percent at work. That’s why I’ve been working so hard to give myself time to be with my family.”

“(The longevity) does surprise me, but at the same time, I’m very grateful because the fans really determine whether your music will stand the test of time, so it’s the legacy. It’s the legacy and it’s the love,” he said.

When asked if fans still reference his iconic 2001 song “Area Codes,” Ludacris joked, “No, I’m married now, so there’s no area code anymore. But it was a great history, a great time, and when I play it, people light up because music should be like a time capsule that takes you back to a moment in your life.”
