LeBron James Continuing to make history, this time with his son.

“A lot of crazy things have happened this year,” LeBron told reporters after the 107-98 win in Game 1 of the series. “I mean, I’m in the playoffs with my son. It’s probably the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me in my career.”
LeBron went on to describe what the moment meant to him and his entire family watching the game in the arena.

“It was so cool to hang out with (Bronny),” LeBron, 41, said. “And his brother (bryce) and sister (Zhuri) and mother (Savannah James) in the building. And his grandma. “
He continued, “It’s crazy. My mom gets to watch her son and her grandson during the playoffs. It’s crazy.”
At the beginning of the second quarter, the 21-year-old Bronny was subbed out and LeBron was already on the court, and the two exchanged some words on the court.

Playing with his son has been a major goal for LeBron over the past few years before his 23-year career inevitably comes to an end.
“I need to be on the court with my kids, I have to be on the court with Bronny,” LeBron told ESPN 2023. “Either wear the same uniform or go against him. … But I’d love to do the Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. thing. That’s certainly ideal. … I’m already here, so I’m just waiting for him.”
LeBron officially achieved that goal in October 2024, when the two made history as the first father and son to play together in an NBA game. To be fair, they upgraded on Saturday.
It’s unclear how many games Bronny will be able to play in the remainder of the playoffs, but injuries to Lakers star Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves That could create some opportunities for Bronny to get more playing time in the coming games.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at 10pm ET in Los Angeles.
