Kaley Cuoco and her fiancé, Tom Pelfreyare paying tribute to their late dog Ruby.
“💫 Ruby 💫. I knew this day would come eventually, but that doesn’t make it any easier. My sweet Ruby has crossed the 🌈 bridge.” Cuoco, 40, via Instagram Sunday, April 19th. “I’ve had her for so many years, I literally lost count. We’ve been through so much together and through everything, she’s still the same: the sweetest little angel Snowball. Everyone loves her!”
She continued, “A long time ago, I was working on a TV show at the East Valley shelter. She was the dog they let me hold. I came home that night and couldn’t get her out of my mind, so I went back the next day and adopted her ♥️ Best decision I’ve ever made. The more pets we have, the more we experience this familiar pain, but I feel honored to be able to give these dogs the best life possible because that’s all that matters 💜💖.”
In addition to the message, Cuoco shared a series of photos of her and Ruby over the years, including a photo of Pelphrey, 43, holding puppy. In another photo, the couple’s three-year-old daughter Matilda leans in to pat Ruby.
Pelfrey mourned Ruby in another post. “Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Ruby,” he said via Instagram on Sunday. “Kaley saved Ruby years ago, she lived an amazing life and passed away peacefully a very old lady. Ruby aka ‘Snowball’ aka ‘Ruby from the Block’ was as angelic in temperament as she was in appearance, but she didn’t suffer fools gladly and punched way above her weight class. We will miss her. 🙏🤍🙏.”
Cuoco, a lifelong animal lover, gave fans a glimpse living with her dog Over the years. In 2024, Cuoco explained that she decided to rehome her dog Shelly.
“As most of you know, Shirley and I have been together for many, many, many years,” Cuoco said in an Instagram video at the time. “All of a sudden you stopped seeing her and I started getting a lot of questions about where she was because I stopped posting about the dog I’d had since she was 6 weeks old, which was very unlike me.”
Cuoco became emotional while discussing how Shirley got into “big fights” with Pelfrey’s German shepherd, Blue. led to her decision.
“I loved her so much, but I was really scared. I didn’t want something really bad to happen or someone to accidentally get hurt in there,” she said of her pet caretakers Tony and his wife Angie who cared for Shirley for her. “They loved her very much and it was a heart-wrenching decision.”
Cuoco explained that Shirley died after battling “a very aggressive form of bone cancer” that “came on very quickly.”
“She’s almost 14, and it’s an incredible life for a dog,” Cuoco said through tears. “I just want to share her story and what we have to do.”
