former lieutenant governor of virginia Justin Fairfax Facing sexual assault charges against him and his estranged wife, Serena Farifax, found dead In an apparent murder-suicide.
“Former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax shot his wife in their home, then turned the gun on himself,” Chief Kevin Davis “This is an ongoing family dispute surrounding what appears to be a complicated or messy divorce. So far, all we know is what you know. Divorce proceedings appear to have been ongoing,” the April 16 news release said.
Justin served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022. In 2019, multiple women accused the politician of sexual assault, which he denied.

Meredith Watson Alleges Justin Fairfax raped her in 2000 while they were students at Duke University.
“He knew I had been raped by someone the year before and did nothing about it. He was a good friend of mine,” Watson said on the show. cbs this morning 2019. “That’s why I never thought he would do something like this.”
When asked if she had tried to talk to Justin after he allegedly assaulted her, Watson responded: “I tried.”
“One night after it happened… I was at a party on campus and he came, so I left, like, I left. He followed me out and kind of followed me and called after me,” Watson said. “I was just trying to run away, and then I finally stopped and turned around. All I said to him was, ‘Why? Why are you doing this to me?’ And he said, ‘Because of what happened to you last year, I know that if I put you in the right situation, you would be afraid to say or do anything about it.'”
Watson claimed that Justin “knew what he was going to do that night when he invited (her) over.”
another woman, Vanessa Tysonaccused Justin of forcing her to perform oral sex while attending the Democratic National Convention in Boston in 2004.
The charges were filed in 2019. Virginia Democrats later called on Justin Fairfax to resign.
“We believe that sexual assault allegations must be taken extremely seriously. Given the credibility of the sexual assault allegations against Lieutenant Governor Fairfax, it is clear that he can no longer carry out the duties and responsibilities of his position.” statement Virginia Democratic Party Chairman Susan Swick I read it at the time. “While the lieutenant governor should receive due process in this matter, it is in the best interest of the commonwealth that he undergo this process as a private citizen.”
The statement concluded, “The lieutenant governor no longer has our trust or support. He must resign.”
Justin Fairfax has publicly denied the allegations and claimed his encounters with the women were consensual. nbc news.
“I empathize with those who live with chronic hurt and pain. And, while the evidence will continue to bear out the fact that I never assaulted Dr. Tyson or Ms. Watson, I can hear the pain they express; I hope they can address and heal that pain,” he said in part in a 2019 statement. cbs this morning. “However, because I never assaulted Dr. Tyson or Ms. Watson, I know that my actions could not have been the cause of this pain.”
Fairfax also noted in the statement that he “feels so strongly that I am innocent” that he “subjected to a lie detector test on each of the charges against me.”
“I passed these tests because, as I have insisted from the beginning, I did not attack any of my accusers,” he claimed.
