It’s all about culture and that’s what I want.”
Marshall continued, “I don’t want to be around people who only care about themselves. I really believe that’s why Coach Alford is here, he knows he wants to be around better people.”
Marshall heaped praise on Michigan State’s new head coach when he spoke on Wednesday, Kyle Whittingham.
“When he walks around the building, his enthusiasm is (unparalleled),” he said. “I was sitting there talking to him and I thought, ‘This guy has a charm about him.'”
“I walked into the training room and he was running. I walked into where we left off and he was lifting weights,” Marshall added. “He’s 65 years old and my biggest concern is how he’s going to connect with some of our guys. I think he can reach a lot of guys and push a lot of our guys as well. That’s what’s going to be really special.”
