“I think a good way to turn this around is to have a conversation with your husband about it,” he quipped.

Kimmel then got more serious, telling Melania, “I’m sorry that you, the president, and everyone in the room have to go through this. I’m really sorry. Just because no one was killed, doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic and horrific. We should all come together and do our best.”

On Monday, Donald, 79, went a step further than the first lady on the matter: Calls for ABC to fire Kimmel from his late night show.

“Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, he’s not funny at all, and his terrible TV ratings prove it, but the statements he made on the show were truly shocking,” the president shared via his Truth social site on Monday. “He showed fake videos of First Lady Melania and our son Barron as if they were actually sitting in his studio listening to him speak, but they were not and never would be. And then he said, ‘Our First Lady Melania is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you are radiant like a widow on the way.'”

The president continued, “One day later, a maniac tried to enter the ballroom of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner armed with a shotgun, a pistol and numerous knives. He was there for a very obvious and sinister reason. I understand that so many people are outraged by Kimmel’s despicable calls for violence and would not normally react to anything he says, however, this is something that goes way beyond the pale. Jimmy Kimmel should be fired immediately from Disney and ABC. Thank you. Please bring this to your attention!”

Kimmel is Briefly suspended from ABC Last September, after he made comments following the death of a conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Many Hollywood stars and fans launched a campaign in his defense, and he eventually returned to the airwaves. (He later Sign a one-year contract extension with ABC. )
