Jessica Simpson As she enjoyed a first-class flight to Hawaii, she broke the record for letting her kids sit in economy class.
“My mom bought these tickets,” Simpson, 45, told photographers on Wednesday, May 20. Page sixnoting that she had no choice in seating arrangements. “My mom invited us to Hawaii.”
The paparazzi then asked the singer if she wanted to sit with her children – Maxwell, 14, Ace, 12, and Bertie, 7, whom she shares with her estranged husband Eric Johnson — if she buys the tickets herself. “Of course!” she replied.
Simpson’s revelations occurred in her ex-husband, Nick Lacheyshared that he met her on a flight Watch live broadcast.
“I believe her kids and her — I’m not familiar with their situation, but — her husband may have been on the plane but not with us,” Lachey, 52, said, noting that her mom, Tina Ann Drewalso on the flight.
Host Andy Cohen then asked if her children were all on the plane but in “separate cabins,” which Lachey confirmed.
As for their first run-in in 20 years, Luckey said it was “weirdly okay.”
“You know, it’s been 20 years, so we hadn’t seen each other in 20 years and then spent six and a half hours together on a flight to Hawaii,” he recalled. “When I say ‘get through,’ (I mean) in the same vicinity. Everybody was very welcoming, very respectful.” Luckey added, “Honestly… it was good.”
Lucky flew with his wife, Vanessa Lacheyand their three children: Camden, 13, Brooklyn, 11, and Phoenix, 9.

Another commented: “Victorious Mother’s Day gift…Moms get a first-class treatment and let the dads take care of the kids behind you👏.” A third fan commented: “It’s so nice of her to have her kids as coaches lol, she should take a break.”
Simpson and Luckey met in 1998 and began dating a month later. They got engaged in February 2002 and tied the knot later that year. Lucky and Simpson then starred in MTV’s Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica and spent three seasons together before confirming their separation in November 2005. They officially divorced in June 2006.
In 2010, Simpson fell in love with Johnson, 46. Four years later, they married in California. In January 2025, Simpson confirmed that they had broken up.
