Video shared by Ukraine’s Third Army showed an old woman trying to leave a destroyed village being rescued by a robot.
The Ukrainian army used a drone to spot the woman and sent the machine to rescue her.
Drone footage released on Saturday showed a robot approaching the woman with the words “Grandma, sit down.”
Antonina Horuzha told BBC reporter Jessica Parker: “I thought I wouldn’t make it and had no strength.”
Ground-based drones have played a key role in rescuing or resupplying soldiers on the front lines in Ukraine.
