Google releases Gemini software for Mac

Google he announced On Wednesday, it is introducing Gemini software for Mac, which is finding rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic, who have had Mac software for some time.

“Now, you can bring up Gemini anywhere on your Mac with a shortcut (Option + Space) to get instant help, without switching tabs,” Google said in its post. “Whether you’re writing a market report and need to confirm a date or create a budget in a spreadsheet and need the right direction, you can find the answer and get back to work.”

When using this new app, you can share everything on your screen with Gemini to help you with what you’re currently looking at, including local files.

For example, if you’re looking at a more complex chart, you might ask “What are the three biggest takeaways from this?” and receive a summary.

The app also supports the ability to create photos with Nano Banana and videos with Veo.

The native macOS app is available to all Gemini users on macOS versions 15 and up, worldwide, starting today. Available for download at gemini.google/mac.
