Google now lets you search a website with AI Mode

Google announced Thursday that it is launching a new way to browse the web AI modehis conversational search. Now, when you use AI Mode on the Chrome desktop, clicking a link opens a page with AI Mode.

The goal is to make it easier to search relevant websites, compare details, and ask follow-up questions while saving your search, the tech giant said.

For example, if you want to buy a new coffee maker, you can specify what you are looking for in AI Mode and get several options. When you click on one, you can open the seller’s page next to AI Mode and ask questions, like “how easy is this cleaning?” AI Mode will use the content of the site and the Internet to answer your questions.

“Our early testers loved that they didn’t have to switch tabs every time to get a full story or a long video,” Google explained in a post. “And they found that having Search and one page side-by-side helped them focus on their work and find the pages they needed.”

Google has also announced a new way to search for the Chrome tabs you’re already browsing.

On Chrome desktop or mobile, you can click the new “plus” menu in the search box on the “New Tab” page or in AI Mode, then select the latest tabs to include in your search. This means you can mix and match multiple tabs, images, or files and bring that content into your AI Mode search.

For example, if you’re searching for similar directions and you already have tabs open, you can add them to your search and ask for similar directions elsewhere. Or, if you’re studying for a statistics test, you can bring in stories from open tabs, class notes, lesson photos, and more to ask for examples that illustrate a concept.
