Google adds AI Skills to Chrome to help you save your favorite content

Google is adding AI capabilities to its Chrome browser, the company said he announced the second. It is introducing a new feature called Skills, which will allow users to save and reuse their favorite AI content that can cross different pages without rewriting.

For example, Google points out that if a user often asks Gemini for page updates when looking at recipe pages, they can save that time and use it on different pages.

To get the feature, save the AI ​​speed as a Skill directly from the chat profile. The skill can also be used in Gemini in Chrome by typing a forward slash ( / ) or clicking the plus button (+ ). The Skill will be run on the page being viewed, along with any additional tabs selected.

These skills can also be changed at any time, Google notes.

In tests, the company found that early adopters used Skills in areas like health and wellness – for example, calculating protein macros in recipes – or comparing purchases or analyzing and summarizing long documents.

To help users get started with Skills, the company is also introducing a Skills library that will provide common tasks and workflows in areas such as productivity, shopping, recipes, budgeting, and more. To use the predefined Skills, users simply add them to their saved Skills in Chrome. Skill can also be customized to suit the user’s needs with quick changes.

Like other Gemini actions in Chrome, Skills ask the user for confirmation before performing certain actions, such as sending an email or adding an event to your calendar.

The skills are rolling out today to Chrome desktop users who are signed in to their Google Account. This will only work if your Chrome browser’s locale is set to English (US).
