University of Georgia Football Radio Scott Howard He posted the news on social media after it was announced he would be replaced after 18 years in the role.

Howard’s post comes after the University of Georgia announced the broadcaster Jeff Dantzler and former Bulldog football player. Jon Stanchcomb will take over the duties for the upcoming 2026 season.
Dantzler, who handles games for the Georgia baseball and Lady Bulldog basketball teams, actually took Howard’s spot in the stands.

The news that the school would no longer accept Howard in football broadcasts made most of the Bulldog faithful uncomfortable.
“Thank you for being the Dawgs’ voice for 18 years,” one fan commented on Howard’s post. “We enjoy every game you call in and always look forward to tuning in every Saturday, whether it’s home or away.”
Another wrote, “This is so disappointing! You were a Saturday staple in our house! We always synced up the radio because your call was our favorite! We are going to miss you behind the mic! Go ahead, Dougs, and thank you Scott for all the amazing Georgia Bulldog memories!”
Dantzler also weighed in on social media after news broke that Dantzler would replace Howard, who has been with the Bulldog Network for more than 30 years.
“I want to thank everyone for their kind words, congratulatory messages and overwhelming encouragement, it’s been absolutely overwhelming,” he wrote. byX Sunday, April 26th. “This is a dream come true, a lifetime of honor and responsibility. The university did not provide a reason for the broadcast booth shakeup but expressed gratitude for Howard’s longevity.
“Jeff Dantzler, Jon Stinchcomb and DJ Shockley have a tremendous passion for the University of Georgia,” Athletic Director Josh Brooks said in a statement. “We look forward to more iconic calls as they lead to extraordinary moments in Georgia Bulldogs history. We also want to thank Scott Howard for his nearly four decades of service to the Georgia Bulldogs radio network, and we are excited to have him continue as our men’s basketball announcer.”
