Nearly 90 drones fell into the water during Sydney’s Darling Harbor Festival of Lights on Monday.
Organizers of Vivid Sydney said the outage was caused by “unforeseen technical difficulties”. Vivid Sydney is an annual three-week music festival featuring large-scale light installations.
Two upcoming aerial shows have now been cancelled.
A spokesman for Vivid Sydney apologized for the “disappointment and inconvenience caused to audiences” and said the drone operator canceled the show “in line with standard safety protocols”.
