Driver arrested after chasing young boy on bike in Washington

A driver was arrested after trying to hit a boy on a bicycle in a Cheney neighborhood.

Video shared by police showed the 56-year-old woman driving onto the sidewalk and trying to attack the boy who was fleeing in front of the car.

The driver continued chasing the child on the sidewalk before reentering the road and driving off.

The boy was not injured in the incident, but his mother told BBC News partner CBS News that her son was shocked and scared.

“He was convinced she was going to run him over,” Jennifer Taylor said.

The driver, Wendy Clement, faces multiple charges, including assault and drink-driving.
