A Florida daycare employee has been arrested after she was accused of violently attacking an infant in her care after her personal problems were exacerbated by text messages.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Facebook statement On Wednesday, May 13, medical personnel reported that a 3-month-old child was admitted to Panama City with a fractured skull, broken leg, broken ribs and bleeding on the brain, officials reported to HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City.

“Hamilton admitted to being already upset by personal issues while at work and received an additional text message, which heightened her anger and she directed her anger toward the baby,” the police department’s statement said.
Hamilton admitted to repeatedly slamming the child into the crib and changing table, and said she squeezed him, shook him and hit him on the head with toys “to try to stop him from crying.”
Additionally, Hamilton allegedly said she abused the baby “again in the same manner” during a second incident on the same day.
“Due to the level of rage she described, she was unable to provide the exact number of times she struck the child,” the department said.
Investigators said the child suffered “catastrophic injuries” that would have led to his death if “the child’s parents had not acted quickly to seek immediate medical attention.”
