David Manheim says Nick Renner never seemed capable of murder

“I think he was 23 or 24 years old at the time and he was very frustrated with himself and what people expected him to be… When you’re a drug addict and you’re that young, that’s it’s hard to get rid of it,” he continued.

“In Hollywood, there’s a whole scene with the kids of these moguls. All the biggest names in Hollywood have kids, and these kids hang out together. Some of them end up being drug addicts, and some of them just party. When you become a drug addict, you’re not just partying anymore. You’re on this ridiculous, crazy mission (to do drugs),” he told me. us. “In general, there’s a line in the sand, and once you seek treatment multiple times and use substances like he does in the book, it goes from that scene to a larger drug addict gestalt.”
