Christina Applegate’s Representatives responded to reports that the actress was hospitalized due to her battle with multiple sclerosis.

“I didn’t know what was happening to me. In January of that year, my toes went numb and I ignored it. The ball of my foot went numb and I ignored it. In an emotional moment, Applegate read a letter from a fan named Steven, who has myasthenia gravis (MG). Autoimmune diseases can cause weakness in certain voluntary muscles. Steven wrote that MG “snatched (his) soul day after day, hour after hour,” reminding Applegate of his recent multiple sclerosis outbreak.
“I was reading the book and I was trying not to become a crybaby again because of everything I read because I was getting so emotional because we were all sitting in that space and I was really moved,” she said. “Like yesterday, I was walking, okay… Today, I fell, I tripped. I just feel like, is it taking me away? Is it taking me away, day by day, bit by bit? I can’t even read something like this without being super hyper-triggered.”
