McDonald added, “The difference between Ripley in the first scene and Ripley in the last scene is that he knows she told her brother and that changes everything for him.”

“That’s where the book ends on the past,” MacDonald said of death. “One of the big things we’ll be doing with Frost next year is moving forward. He’s moving forward emotionally, but that requires looking back more into his past, and I think we’ve told that story now.”
