BBC reports from Lebanese border town as residents try to return

BBC Arabic correspondent Karin Tobe reports from the border town of Khiyam as the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon enters its second day.

The Lebanese army set up barriers to prevent residents from returning to their homes in Shyam after loud explosions continued to be heard in parts of the Israeli-occupied town.

On Friday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced that Lebanon was entering a new phase that could transform a temporary ceasefire into a permanent peace solution.
