Anthropic is asking investors to fund the AI company’s latest investment within the next 48 hours, according to sources familiar with the matter. The round, which TechCrunch said is expected to be worth about $50 billion, is expected to close within two weeks, sources said.
As we said before, Anthropic is looking at the calculation of about $900 billion. However, considering the high demand from investors who want to participate in the company, the final valuation may exceed that number, our sources said.
Anthropic declined to comment.
As important as it is, some early adopters – especially those who invested in 2024 or earlier – are skipping this round. Instead, these investors are waiting to cash in during Anthropic’s expected IPO later this year.
The company is raising what is expected to be its last private equity investment before going public to support its massive computing needs.
Anthropic announced this month that its annual revenue has surpassed $30 billion. But as we said before, the running of the company is close to $ 40 billion, according to sources familiar with the company’s finances.
Anthropic raised its final share in February on a $380 billion to calculate. At $900 billion, the company would not only double its valuation but it would also surpass its biggest rival, OpenAI, which closed at around $122 billion at a valuation of $852 billion earlier this year.
