“Following medical advice and as I continue to recover from my knee injury, I am sadly unable to attend this year’s Cannes Film Festival,” she said in a statement on Sunday. “But I am extremely honored to receive the Honorary Palme d’Or and have been looking forward to celebrating the outstanding films of the 79th edition of the festival,” Streisand wrote.
She continued: “I am also very much looking forward to spending time with colleagues whom I admire so much and, of course, returning to France, a place I have always loved.
