Last October, Adobe previewed a new assistant “Project Moonlight” moniker which will work for you by tapping various Adobe programs such as Acrobat, Photoshop and Express. The product is now being launched as Firefly AI Assistant.
The Firefly AI assistant will be available in beta in the coming weeks. The company did not specify whether the AI assistant will be purchased separately from Firefly’s credit-based subscription units.
Like other creative tools, Firefly AI Assistant lets you tell it what you want it to do, and it will handle the rest. Adobe says that the assistant can use all the programs like Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator and its other programs to do the work for you.

Users can control the output from the AI assistant using text annotations as well as buttons and sliders. An agent can display actions, control between actions and programs, and perform actions, but leaves the possibility for users to interrupt at any time.
The assistant will also display controls based on the project you are working on. For example, if you’re editing a photo of a forest scene, the assistant can give you a simple slider to increase or decrease the number of trees and leaves. Adobe says the assistant will learn more about your favorite creations over time and display actions accordingly.
Adobe is also releasing skills, which consist of several steps, for the assistant. The “social media assets” feature, for example, can help you convert images to different platforms by cropping or enlarging, increasing file sizes, and saving output.
