xAI has reportedly raised $20B in Series E funding

xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company behind the Grok chatbot – too owner X – announced that they raised $20 billion in Series E funding.

The company wrote that blog post that investors will include Valor Equity Partners, Fidelity, Qatar Investment Authority, and others, including Nvidia and Cisco as “discretionary investors.” xAI did not disclose whether the funding would come as a loan or a loan.

xAI says it has approximately 600 million monthly active users of X and Grok, and will use the new funding to continue expanding its data center and Grok models.

However, as xAI grows, so does its damage power. This past week, X users asked Grok to create porn for real people – including children. Instead of rejecting these requests or launching any kind of defense, Grok followed through, successfully releasing CSAM and other non-sexual issues of real people.

xAI now is being investigated and heads of state in the European Union, the United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, and France.
