X updates Developer Subscriptions with new features, such as special threads and cards you can share


Elon Musk, who owns X, announced on Thursday that he is renewing the Creator’s Subscription on the social network that offers several new features, including special threads, refreshed paywalls, a new dashboard, and a sharing card, among other changes.

The company believes that these changes will allow creators to attract more fans and provide better experiences, as it pushes to become a bigger part of the creative economy alongside Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

X also showed off its latest launch “Paid Partnership” symbolused for posts that are paid for or sponsored by someone else.

One of the new features arriving Thursday is the launch of “special threads,” which allow creators to monetize their posts directly on X, rather than sending fans to an external website or newsletter. With these posts, developers can mock the value of the thread in the parent post, and then allow listeners to subscribe directly to that discussion. Only subscribers will be in the main account, instead of the subscription tab, according to X.

Some new tools have been developed to help manufacturers market themselves and track their analytics. This also includes a new Subscription Card that can be shared on X to promote content from developers. There’s also a new dashboard that allows developers to easily track their earnings along with other subscription information, as well as access to a wider range of tools.

The company also officially announced about the recent launch of the “Paid Partnership” brand.which provides developers with building blocks to follow The X plan and company rules for creating ads, not using hashtags. Instead, the new tag appears below the page’s content, and can be added after the creator forgot to include it when they first posted.
