William Shatner Amid rumors that he is battling stage 4 brain cancer and is Erica Kirk.
The 95-year-old actor clarified rumors by his official social media account On Thursday, April 2, he explained that he had waited until April Fools’ Day to set the record straight.
“I wanted to post this yesterday but thought about the day and how it might seem like a joke I was waiting for today. There is a page on @facebook that is using artificial intelligence to create horrible fake news stories about me,” he wrote.
Shatner continued, “They created stories that said I had stage 4 brain cancer, was in some kind of battle with Erica Kirk, and that I was dying. All of their stories were monetized. Most of the stories used my AI images. Facebook support will not remove the page.”
this star trek star explained that Facebook support “will not remove the page” despite people mistakenly believing the content of the post to be true. Shatner explained that he had reported the page and attempted to contact the page’s CEO to ask them to remove the page.
“None of these stories are true, but they are apparently true enough that fans can repost them on social media and send me and my family messages of support while the culprits behind the accounts make money,” he wrote of the page he calls the “Beanstalk Functions Group.”

“While (it) can be a great tool in the right hands, in the wrong hands it can be used as a weapon,” he wrote. “If you see a weird story about me; unless you see it posted on one of my verified accounts, take it with a grain of salt.”
In the second article Share via Instagram On Thursday, Shatner shared a photo of himself smiling and in good spirits to prove He is not sick.
“My daughter came over and told me her daughter heard I had brain cancer. 🙄 She took this photo and sent it to me to upload to prove I wasn’t sick. 🤷” Shatner wrote in the post. “Those who are spreading these ridiculous stories are the ones who are sick. I’m healthy. You don’t have to worry. This is crazy.”
In an AI-generated post on the Beanstalk Functions Group, the fake image showed Shatner lying in a hospital bed, with the page claiming the actor “ended weeks of wild speculation by sharing a haunting, raw photo of himself in a hospital bed.”
