Melissa Peterman trade off Her chance to make a cameo on ex Reba supporting role Joanna Garcia Swisher‘s popular series sweet magnolia.

“We had a lot of laughs. It was so much fun introducing my (Reba TV family) to my Happy’s Place family,” she added. “They all embraced her very much, too.”
NBC confirmed in September 2025 that Swisher would play local Knoxville influencer Kenzie in the upcoming episode, which will air on March 13. According to the official character description, her character “has been hired to represent Happy’s Place’s upcoming social media marketing campaign, all to Bobby’s chagrin.”

As far as Peterman is concerned, I joked about her before Garcia had a different character in mind.
“One of the things I pitched to the writers was when we knew we were getting Joanna Garcia back,” Peterman shared with Us in December 2025. “I thought she might be Gabby’s agent, but she kept lying to me.”
Peterman liked the idea of a more adversarial relationship with Swisher on screen.
“She just took my money and pretended to be pregnant but never did it,” she joked. “So, it was a pitch that I thought was really funny. But in hindsight, what Joanna did was hilarious.”
