Caitlin O’Donnell Months after the death of her two-year-old son, Preston, she hit the pause button on social media.
“As most of you know, I have obviously been struggling mentally since losing my son, Preston, in April of this year,” O’Donne via Instagram Friday, December 26th. “I’m just here to let you all know that for the sake of my mental health, I decided to take a break. I realized that I never really allowed myself to take a step back from the beginning. Maybe that’s what I needed in my recovery process at the time. But I’m in a position now where I’m really struggling with social media.”
She continued, “I think it’s been a really hard month for me. I had to go through my first Christmas without him. The month before Christmas is really hard for me. Preston’s birthday is December 27th, which is tomorrow. It’s his first birthday without him. I’ve been really struggling and all I need to heal right now is just focus on what’s around me. I need to focus on my daughter and my family and my friends around me. That’s the healing for me.” “
O’Doneh, meanwhile, said she does “enjoy” creating content.
“I do hope that this page will always be the page where people remember Preston,” she said. “I want to be able to share the things I love with everyone. I want to be able to share what I do. I want to be able to share my family.”
She continued, “I really don’t know how long I’m going to need to take off. It could literally be just a week and I’ll be ready. Regardless, I’m so grateful for your support. I really hope to see you when I come back. Having your support means more than anything. Whenever I’m mentally ready to come back, I’ll see you and I thank you again for your support.”

In April, news broke that Preston, who went by the online name “Okay Baby,” had died in a bicycle accident. And his parents – Caitlin and Celan Aldone — Preston was at school when his sister, Paisley, was in the car and injured when the accident occurred.

Caitlyn has since opened up about how she moved on from grief, sharing this in a YouTube video in August: She gained 20 pounds since the accident.
“I just started learning to drive. It might have been a month, but we’ve been doing takeout for so long that it’s become a habit,” Caitlin said. “I also have a hard time doing general things so takeout is easier for me but we can’t do it forever and I really want to get back to cooking and cooking healthier meals.”
