Why aren’t more Americans charged in the Epstein case?

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor made headlines in the United States after he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

However, some U.S. lawmakers have questioned why no Americans linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have come under criminal investigation.

BBC North America Editor Sarah Smith explains why US prosecutors appear to have brought no charges against others revealed in the Epstein dossier.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing with Epstein; he has not yet responded to a request from the BBC for comment on specific allegations related to the January release of millions of Epstein documents.
