It was announced last month that Hartung would make his sideline reporting debut during the 2026 Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Melissa Stark. The 2026 Super Bowl will be the second time NBC has hired two sideline reporters to help cover the game.
“It feels like a cliché to say this is a dream come true. But it is,” Hartung told new york post before the football game. “It’s true, it’s crazy. It’s a dream I’ve had for a while and it’s surreal.”

Hartung admitted that saying she was covering the Super Bowl was “hard to say out loud” because it’s such a big deal. She told the newspaper she was “reserving sleep” ahead of her Super Bowl debut.
“I’m trying to enjoy where I’m paying rent now, because those days feel few and far away,” Hartung said of her New York City apartment. “I moved into this apartment about a year ago, after last year’s Super Bowl, and I was still short of furniture.”

Hartung makes his debut as a reporter and correspondent for CBSNews.com. Eventually she got a job as a reporter’s assistant Bob Schieffer Then worked as an associate producer on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
She also held roles at ESPN, CNN and ABC News before being hired by Prime Video as a Thursday Night Football sideline reporter in July 2022.
Hartung grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and attended Washington and Lee University, graduating in 2007.

After the 2026 Super Bowl, Hartung will travel to Milan to cover the Winter Olympics aerials and freestyle skiing competitions.
“I had to carry a month’s worth of luggage on the road, two different climates and two different events,” she told The Washington Post, noting that six suitcases and a duffel bag got her through. “For the Olympics, it’s easy. I’m working on aerials and mogul events, and I’ll be outside, so I have to wear NBC-issued Ralph Lauren Olympic gear.”
Hartung added, “I’ve got my down jacket on and everything is going to go underneath it—it’s simple. It really simplifies everything weather-wise. … Nothing is more important to me than functionality.”
