Sullivan’s Crossing Fans are concerned about where certain storylines will go in Season 4 — and not all cast members will return to the show.
CW series, based on Series author: Robin Carrfollows neurosurgeon Maggie (Morgan Cohan) she must return to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia. Viewers are introduced to her estranged father Sully (Scott Patterson), newcomer Carl (Chad Michael Murray) and more community members.

“It’s always exciting to go to a new place with new projects and new expectations. Everyone is lovely. The work is deep and the collaboration is real. You’ve got a built-in audience for (Gilmore Girls) and now we have an audience for Robin Carr’s books,” Patterson told US Weekly October 2023. “So it’s exciting to be able to join some already established fandom and I can bring my fans in. They can join forces and watch the show together and compare notes.”

Patterson emphasized how Sullivan’s Crossing That leaves room for collaboration.
“I had more freedom to create the character. I had more input into what (Sully) said and did. I love the show. I love the producers and the network and all the support they give. And (executive producer) Roman Ross is a very, very special showrunner,” he noted. “She really trusts her actors and she really listens. She just wants the best for the episode. She wants the best for the scene (and) she wants the best for the show. To me, that’s the sign of a true leader. So we follow her lead, but she’s open to suggestions, which makes that even more powerful.”
At the time, Patterson shared how to “be respected” The actors must have a live feel.
“Everyone has a platform to express their concerns or opinions and express their ideas and they will be taken seriously,” he added. Advertisement

Morgan Cohan
After her relationship with Carl reaches a promising point, Maggie’s life gets more complicated While on her summer bash Liam (Marcus Rosner) arrives at Sullivan’s Crossing and reveals that he and Maggie are married.
“There’s never a dull moment at Sullivan’s Crossing,” showrunner Ross told us collider July 2025. “A romantic drama requires a push and pull between characters… We’re going to have quite a bit of change at the end of the season, and we’re going to see that in Season 4.”
Chad Michael Murray
Murray will reprise his beloved role as Carl become lifelike.
“I would say Sullivan’s Crossing is a place where you heal,” he told Parade in October 2023. “Sullivan’s Crossing is a place where you can grow and be honest with yourself.”
He continued: “The beauty of this show is that I believe people are going to want more and more of it because it slows things down. We all work so hard that we never live. I think there’s a lot more life than work on this show.”

After going through ups and downs Sullivan’s Crossing The show is set to premiere in 2023 and Jackson will return as a main cast member in season four. He plays Frank Cranbell.
Andrea Maynard
Season 4 will continue to show Edna’s story as she attempts to heal after losing her sight due to a brain tumor. Maggie ends up having a risky surgery that saves Edna’s life.
Scott Patterson
Patterson raved about the show, but he won’t be continuing to bring Sully to life. Us Weekly reported in March 2026 that the actor was exiting just before the start of season four.
