What is the Golden Globe Awards?
The Golden Globe Awards honor international film and television. The awards ceremony began in 1944 and is organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which represents international journalists in the entertainment industry.
In 2023, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association dissolved as an organization. Dick Clark Productions purchased the association’s assets and renamed it the Golden Globe Foundation.
What categories are there in the Golden Globe Awards?
The Golden Globe Awards are divided into two parts: Film Awards and Television Awards. Each section has categories based on a specific genre. The only television and film categories without genre descriptions are Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. The film sections for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Song and Best Score are also open to all genres.

Who votes for the Oscars?
The Academy Awards are voted on by members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which includes more than 10,000 film industry professionals. For the nomination process, typically the Academy members in that particular department (just like the acting cast) vote each year to determine the nominees. However, all eligible members may vote in each category during the final voting period.
