Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Celia Flores are detained at a New York detention center after being arrested in a U.S. airstrike in Caracas.
Video showed Maduro walking handcuffed from the plane after it landed at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York state on Saturday night.
He was then taken to a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) office. The White House shared a video of him in the office on social media with the caption: “The criminal is gone.”
He was later taken aboard a helicopter at a New York heliport and is believed to have transported him and Flores to the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal facility in Brooklyn where they are being held.
