Try premium subscription for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp

Meta is planning to test a new subscription that gives people access to its own devices, the company told TechCrunch on Monday. The tech giant said the new subscriptions will unlock more productivity and creativity, as well as greater AI capabilities.

In the coming months, Meta said it will provide an advanced experience on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp that gives users access to exclusive content and control over how they share and interact, while keeping the experience free. Meta doesn’t seem to be locked into one method, I realize that it will try different subscriptions and bundles, and that each subscription in the program has unique features.

Meta also shared that it plans to expand Manus, and The recently discovered AI assistant for $2 billion, as part of its subscription plan.

Meta is taking two paths in Manus. The company will integrate Manus into Meta’s products, while continuing to sell standalone subscriptions to businesses. Meta has already been seen working on adding a shortcut to Manus AI on Instagram, according to a photo shared by the engineer. Alessandro Paluzziwho often find unreleased products still in production.

In addition, Meta plans to test subscriptions for AI products, such as Making Vibes videos. Vibes is a Meta AI short video created in the Meta AI software that allows people to create and edit AI-generated videos. Although Vibes has been free since its launch last year, Meta now plans to offer free access to Vibes video creation, with a subscription option to unlock additional video creation opportunities each month.

While it is not clear what the payments on WhatsApp and Facebook will look like, Paluzzi notes that the new registration on Instagram will allow users to create lists of unlimited audiences, be able to see the list of followers who do not follow you, and the opportunity to view Stories without a picture to see that you have seen it.

It is important to note that the new registration will be different from Meta Verified. The tech giant says it will use what it learned from Meta Verified to transform its subscription business to include more content it thinks everyday users, developers, and businesses will want.

Meta Verified is aimed at content creators and businesses, as it comes with a verified badge, 24/7 direct support, browser security, search optimization, unique stickers, and more. While this is not intended for everyday or non-creative users, these new subscriptions will be designed for the general public.

The introduction of additional subscriptions will allow Meta to generate more revenue; however, many users may opt out of registration fatigue. With so many paid services competing for monthly usage, Meta needs to provide something compelling for users to sign up for another subscription.

Snap has proven there is a subscription market for social media, as its Snapchat+ offering continues to drive revenue. Snapchat +, which starts at $ 3.99 per month for special features, has increased to 16 million subscribers, doubling since the beginning of 2024.

Meta says it plans to listen to the user community and gather feedback as it begins rolling out subscriptions in the coming months.
