Todd and Julie Chrisley They are defending the way they raise daughter Chloe despite facing backlash.
“We’re sitting here teaching her about God, about family, about kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness,” Todd, 56, said during the couple’s “Chrisley Confessions” podcast on Wednesday, March 11, about their decision to center their faith in Chloe’s life. “Those are the things we taught her.”

“Look at how they talk about her in school. Look at how people say she doesn’t support conflict, she tries to deescalate conflict, she’s the one they come out of class with and exit because when new people come into the school, she’s the new friend,” he continued. “She was so kind and thoughtful. That’s what we raised.”

“They’re very thought-provoking. In fact, I was talking to Chloe about this yesterday. She said, ‘We don’t think so.’ I said, ‘But how does it make you feel knowing that? We didn’t do something or didn’t do something to make people think that? She said, ‘Well, that’s their opinion,'” Todd shared. “She said, ‘I don’t live my life to please other people. I live my life to please God, my family and myself.'”

Chloe is the biological daughter of Todd’s son Kyle, whom Todd welcomed into his first marriage. Linxi. Todd, 53, and Julie have been raising Chloe since 2016. A month later, the couple officially adopted her before they report to prison in 2023.
“You have to look at us raising another child. Are we perfect parents? No, perfect parents don’t exist,” Jolie countered on Wednesday. “I would sit here today and say with complete honesty, ‘Am I the perfect parent? No, I’m not.'”
She continued: “I’m not the perfect parent. But I can tell you that I love her unconditionally, she is my child and I would never do anything to hurt her in any way.”
julie Stick with Todd Regarding their prioritizing values, she said: “Until the day I die, I will always be her mother. I will be her mother. That’s not going to change. I’m going to continue to raise her like any other child. Whether you like it or not, we’re not going to give it a s***. She’s my child.”
The Chrisley family faced challenges in 2019 when Todd and Julie were indicted and ultimately found guilty on tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy charges. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison and his wife to seven years in prison, and the couple was ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution.
Todd and Julie maintained their innocence and continued to appeal, with their previous sentences reduced by nearly two years in September 2023. President Donald Trump ultimately pardoned Todd and Julie in May 2025.
