Three ‘Nestflix’ peregrine falcons take flight for the first time

The three stars of Nestflix 2025, the high-story Peregrine Live broadcast that captured the hearts of tens of thousands of Australians, have finally made their first flight.

For three days, three falcon chicks each spread their wings and soared over Melbourne’s city skyline, although there were a few hiccups along the way.

While two of the chicks successfully took off with ease, one of the chicks made a brave first attempt before falling back onto the ledge. After getting over the initial disappointment, the second attempt turned out to be a success.

According to BirdLife Australia, the chicks will remain near the city for the next few weeks, relying on their parents for food until they are ready to face the world on their own.
