Threads is testing a shortcut to make it easier for another DM, the company that owns Meta he announced Thursday. Users who are part of the test can type “DM me” or “Message me” in a post or reply to create a hyperlink that invites others to start a private conversation with them.
Clicking on the shortcut will take you to a private chat with that person. If you are both following each other, the message will go to their first inbox. If you do not follow each other, the message is filtered in the “Message Requests” folder to prevent spam.
The company says the new shortcut removes the need to go to a person’s profile to start a DM conversation.
