You probably don’t need a smart AI ring to achieve your goals. DoistThe company behind Todoist, the popular to-do list app that works on multiple devices, is introducing its new AI-powered, “voice-to-tasks” feature: Todoist Ramble. This feature allows you to describe your tasks using natural language.
True to its name, Ramble can take your messy, random words and turn them into organized tasks. The program will also specify other specifications, such as project deadlines, priorities, duration, and deliverables.

The idea is that people often think about things they need to do while on the go, but pulling out their phone to write or make a reminder can be difficult. With Todoist Ramble, you’ll have to take out your phone, but you won’t have to write anything down. Instead, just click the Ramble icon and start talking. The program will be updated in real time with information about the service, even responding to updates and changes when you speak.
For example, the company says you can say things like “Sure, make it Thursday” or “that’s all,” to direct the AI while speaking.
Ramble is built on large language models (LLMs) as part of the company’s AI products Todoist supportwhich runs on Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Live model via Vertex AI for real-time speech understanding. As the audio plays in the background, the model records your words and identifies tasks, dates, and other information you specify to create your tasks.
The music is not stored or used to train the AI, and the software is SOC2 Type II certified, the company, Doist, says.

The AI performance is similar to what we see emerging from various AI tools, which transcribe words to turn them into notes, reminders, to-dos, or notifications. For example, The Amazon Bee wearable uses AI documenting and creating your own agenda, and other tools, like those of Plaudcan take notes of meetings and explain key points.
There is also growing interest in AI-powered smart rings, as the Stream ring from the original Sandbar, or Pebble is coming Index 01 ring. Both allow you to quickly print on the ring (which is worn on the finger) to add something to your to-do list or write on another mobile app.
Before launch, Ramble was beta tested by all Todoist Experimental users, a group of about 150,000 testers who test new features early. In the first three weeks of testing, 76,000 testers completed nearly 290,000 sessions of Ramble on desktop and mobile. The feature went into beta testing in November.
Success in job creation also improved from 40% last October to about 62% by December, helping to boost the economy, Doist said. New users on the entry-level plan were moving at a rate more than five times higher than those who used Ramble, it says.
Todoist Ramble is available to all users on iOS, Android, desktop, and web starting today and supports 38 languages. Basic plan users can also access the feature, but for a limited monthly fee. The paid Pro and Business plans offer unlimited sessions. For easy access, these features can be accessed via the Home Screen or Lock Screen on iOS and via app shortcuts, widgets, and quick-change tiles on Android.
