Google uncovered three Gemini-powered features for Google TV on Tuesday, including AI-driven picture solutions, the ability to dive deep into any topic, and summarizing game play.
A very popular addition is the activation of image responses.
For example, asking for the current score of a Warriors game will bring up live scores, along with information on where to watch the game. Users can also search for recipes, and Gemini will complement the answer with appropriate video tutorials.

As shown on The cost of CES 2026Google TV is also taking a “deep dive.” This allows users to research complex topics in detail. When asked, Gemini provides insights on all aspects, such as health and wellness, finance, and technology. For example, users may ask, “What are the effects of freezing?”
Users can initiate this deep dive by selecting “Dive deeper” in the response options or by going to the Gemini tab on the home page and selecting “Learn”.

For game lovers, Gemini has launched a “game summary.” This is for viewers who want to stay updated on their favorite sports without having to watch every minute. Users can request real-time coverage of sports such as the NBA, NHL, and MLB, making it easy to keep track of events and important updates. This comes a year after Google launched “short stories” for viewers who want to know more about the latest topics.

This service is offered to users in the US and Canada. Google has also revealed plans to expand Gemini’s capabilities to Australia, New Zealand, and the UK this spring, with other countries to follow.

Gemini first he started on Google TV in September 2025, but it was a limited release for select TCL channels. Since then, it has grown to more hardware and received several changes, including the ability to change settings through natural language, such as adjusting dim screens or audio resolution, making it faster than going to the menu. Users can also search their Google Photos library with voice and use AI styles and effects.
